The Screenshots screen scores every image in a folder on how likely it is to be a screen capture rather than a photograph, and moves out only the ones you confirm. This page explains the score, the slider and each button.
Scanning only reads. Nothing leaves the folder until you press one of three buttons, and each of them is reversible: Copy to Folder… leaves the originals where they are, Move to Folder… can be undone, and Move to Trash sends files to the Trash (Recycle Bin on Windows) — never deletes them permanently — and the last batch can be undone from the same screen.
Everything is worked out on your computer. No image is uploaded to decide whether it is a screenshot.

The folder to look through, and whether to go into the folders inside it (on by default). Only images are scanned — videos are skipped.
Find ScreenshotsFree
Reads every image and scores it. Files that live only in iCloud or another cloud drive and are not downloaded are skipped rather than downloaded, and counted as stored in the cloud (skipped).
The screen shares its engine with AI Search and Find a Person, so it waits if one of them is scanning or the search index is being built — the message says which.
Each tile shows a percentage and the signals that fired, so you can see why it was flagged rather than trust a number.
Filename · Capture app
The strongest signals. Filename fires on the name screenshots get in macOS, Windows, iPhone and Android in a dozen languages — Screenshot, Captura de pantalla, Bildschirmfoto, スクリーンショット and so on — and on tools such as CleanShot, Shottr, Snagit, Greenshot and Lightshot. Capture app fires when the file itself records that a capture tool made it.
Flat UI colors
The signal that separates a screen from a scene: interfaces are made of a few solid colours and large grey areas, photographs of continuous tone. This is what stops an ordinary 16:9 photo being flagged just for its shape.
No camera metadata · PNG · Screen ratio
Supporting signals only, because plenty of real photos have them too. A photo that does carry camera EXIF — make, model, exposure — counts strongly against being a screenshot.
SENSITIVITY
Everything scoring at or above the slider's value is flagged and pre-selected; it starts at 50%. Drag toward More aggressive to flag more, toward Stricter to flag only the obvious ones. If you see No screenshots at this sensitivity, move it toward More aggressive.
Any image you clicked to KEEP stays kept when you move the slider — it is not quietly selected again.
KEEP · TRASH
Results are listed most likely first. Click a tile to switch it between TRASH (selected, red) and KEEP. Select All and Clear do it for every flagged image at once. Open a tile to see it large, or reveal it in the Finder / File Explorer. A screenshot of a boarding pass from a trip you care about is not rubbish because it is a screenshot — keep what you want.

Copies the selected screenshots into a folder you choose. The originals stay in place — useful for keeping an archive of them before cleaning up.

Moves them out of the library into a folder you choose. Undoable.
Move to TrashPro · 20 free
Asks first — Files go to the Trash — never deleted permanently — and the last batch can be undone. The button shows how many are selected.
Undo (the curved arrow)
Brings back what you sent to the Trash or moved out from this screen, newest batch first, each file to where it was. If a file of the same name has appeared there since, that one is left in place and reported rather than overwritten.

Scanning, scoring and reviewing are unlimited. Clearing is a one-time allowance of 20 screenshots in total, and the panel shows what is left — Free plan: 12 of 20 screenshots left to clear. See what the free plan does.

It combines several signals and shows which ones fired on each tile: a screenshot file name in any of a dozen languages or from capture tools such as CleanShot or Snagit, a capture app recorded in the file, flat interface colours instead of photographic tone, no camera metadata, the PNG format and a screen-shaped aspect ratio. Camera EXIF counts strongly against. Everything runs on your computer.

Usually a photo that was downloaded or exported: it has lost its camera metadata and has a screen-like shape, which are two of the signals. Click it to mark it KEEP, or drag the sensitivity slider toward Stricter. Photos you mark KEEP stay kept even if you move the slider afterwards.
